Marlboro College was included in the revised and updated Fiske Guide to Colleges 2013, a selective look at more than 300 of the "best and most interesting" colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada and Great Britain. Marlboro was also included in the Forbes list of America's Top Colleges.

Marlboro received a 4.5 out of 5 stars on the LGBT-Friendly Campus Climate Index published by Campus Pride, the national nonprofit organization for student leaders and campus groups creating a safer college environment for LGBT students.

Incoming Students

In the fall of 2012 Marlboro welcomed 70 new students, including:
  • eight from Vermont
  • 44 percent from New England
  • students from 22 states and 2 foreign countries, South Korea and Slovakia
  • 20 transfer students from other colleges and universities 
  • 10 first-generation college attendees 
  • students from the ages of 17 to 30
  • two military veterans
  • nine homeschoolers
  • two world-class pianists and composers
  • the founder of an LGBT equality club
  • a trained firefighter and EMT  
  • a fundraiser of $25,000 for a library in Kenya
  • a beekeeper
  • a Taekwando black belt
  • a hiker of the Appalachian Trail and a hitchhiker of 5,000 miles
  • a Civil War re-enactor
  • a published poet
