Marlboro College

Academics Clair Maleney

Sophomore 2

Academic Interests. I'm still pretty undecided, there are just too many great things to study! However I love literature and world politics so I'll probably end up somewhere in that vein.

Favorite Marlboro Classes. My favorite class is way too hard to pick, but one that I loved last semester which really surprised me was Macroeconomics. I never thought it would be as compelling as it was and I'm really glad I took it.

Favorite Thing about Marlboro. Basically that it's awesome. I came for the rigorous academics and the ability to study whatever I wanted, and I've stayed because of the awesome teachers and people that go here.

Favorite Place at Marlboro. I love the coffee shop especially at 9 o'clock at night when I'm hungry and wanting to hang out after I've been cooped up in my room studying since dinner.

Community Involvement. My favorite thing I did this year for the community was organize an easter egg hunt. Who doesn't love finding candy in a brightly colored egg outside their door in the morning?

Advice. Yak-Tracks are super helpful and extra thick tights are a godsend.

Summer Plans. This summer I am living in Brattleboro and working at the Whetstone Inn in the town of Marlboro as a gardener and a sort of jack of all trades.

I'm really looking forward to meeting all the new freshman and I really hope you love it here!
