Explore Library Resources

Marlboro’s Rice-Aron Library serves as the physical and virtual research hub for both undergraduate and graduate students and faculty, as well as a public resource for Marlboro town residents. The library builds its collection based on faculty and student requests. It also participates in a nationwide interlibrary loan network, providing quick access to almost any book or article one might need.

Library at a glance:

  • Open 24/7; books are borrowed via self-checkout on the honor system
  • Access to 125,000+ e-books, 45,000+ online journals, and dozens of research databases 80,000+ volumes
  • 150+ print journal subscriptions
  • Library staff provide support and guidance through all phases of the research process
  • Marlboro undergraduates borrow, on average, 40 books apiece per year (the national average is six)

Both the Academic Support Services office and Writer’s Block are housed in the library, the latter of which is staffed by student writing tutors who are trained and supervised by Marlboro writing faculty. Other frequently used resources in the library include the computer lab, which is equipped with new Macs linked to scanners and printers, as well as the media lab, which contains equipment for digital photo and video production and editing.

Aside from being a center for research and academic support, the Rice-Aron Library is a favorite writing and study spot for students, who are encouraged to make the space their own while in the building. Some have been known to bring in their own coffee makers, blankets, and even house plants. The library also hosts many popular events each semester, including community book review sessions (Rapid Reviews), letter-writing socials, and monthly teas.
