Academic Peer Coaches | Spring 2013
Alex Bobella
Sophomore 2
Academic Interests: Mythology and Dance. Where is the line blurred between History and Myth? Is Mythology be a literary genre? How does dance - ancient or otherwise - relate to the telling of Myth? What is dance?
Thoughts on the role of Peer Coaches at Marlboro: A peer coach is designed to allow students a guide and outlet when they are feeling overwhelmed.
Favorite Marlboro class: Ballet last spring; I'd never taken a ballet class and knew very little about the dance form, but I think of it now as my muse. It's hard to choose a favorite class, though: I've yet to encounter a class that I don't love.
Community Involvement: I'm Town Meeting Moderator, a member of Pride, and work on the Admissions Committee.
Favorite Marlboro Event: Midnight Breakfast is the best time of year, where all the frustration of the semester is released in the form of wild dancing (often with pancakes in hand.)
Also don't be afraid to ask for help. There's plenty to be had, myself included.
