Communities What to Bring Checklist
Marlboro College residence halls rooms include: a twin-sized bed (takes extra long sheets - 81 inches), desk, chair, closet or wardrobe, dresser, Internet access, phone jack (bring your own phone), and computer connectivity for each student. You will want to consider our list of items below that will help make the room your own.
What to Bring:
- Two sets of extra-long sheets (81" in length)
- Pillow
- Bath towels
- Shower tote
- Toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothbrush & paste, etc.)
- Bathrobe
- Shower shoes/flip-flops
- Desk lamp
- School & desk supplies
- Book bag/back pack
- Telephone (with or without Caller I.D.)
- Clothes hangers
- Laundry bag/pop-up hamper
- Laundry detergent, dryer sheets, etc.
- Alarm clock
- Umbrella
Things to Consider Bringing:
- Computer
- Surge protectors
- Cord organizers
- Area rug
- Trunk/Footlocker
- Extra-long mattress pad/cover
- Floor lamp (only non-Halogen lamps are permitted)
- Mini sewing kit
- First-aid kit (including a digital thermometer)
- Tools (screw driver, hammer, etc.)
- Suction hooks, poster putty, adhesive hooks, etc.
- Cleaning supplies
- Plastic storage containers
- Plates, cups and flatware
- Small bulletin/dry erase board
- Dry erase markers
- Full-length mirror
Things to Leave at Home:
- Air conditioner
- Answering machine
- All Candles (regardless if only used for decoration or if the wick has been removed)
- Incense
- Halogen torchiere lamp
- Pets (non-carnivorous fish are okay)
- Space heater
- George Foreman grill
- Toaster/toaster oven
- Blender
- Hot plate
- Hot pot
- Oil popcorn popper
- Rice Cooker
- Electric sandwich maker
- Microwave over 750 watts
- Personal cooking appliances over 600 watts (except microwaves)
- Weapons of any kind (including, but not limited to firearms, ammunition, bow and arrow, swords, knives, paint ball/pellet guns, etc.)
