Student Bank

Handbook » General Information » Student Bank

The Student Bank is a non-interest bearing account for students providing the on-campus convenience of having somewhere to deposit money and the availability to get some cash when needed. There is an "Account Balance" limit of $500.00 or less per student using the Student Bank. If a student has a Student Bank account, the withdrawal limit is $40.00 per day during banking hours only.

The College encourages student to have their own checking account at another bank (locally or out of state). In having a checking account the student may cash checks up to $40.00 at the Student Bank during banking hours only and if they have a local checking account may cash checks in town. People who have checks returned due to insufficient funds will be charged $20.00 per returned check and will be denied the use of the check cashing service after three returned checks.

The Bank is open Monday through Friday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and closed during Dedicated Hours. The Bank is run by Federal Work-Study/Job Program students. Bank hours and location are posted in prominent places at the start of each semester. The Student Bank is open only when the College is in session, and is not open when the College is closed for semester breaks and holidays.

All Accounts Must be Closed at the End of Each Semester

There are several banks in the Brattleboro/ Wilmington area where students could open an account, enabling them to have greater access to their funds. Representatives from area banks are on campus during registration to open new accounts.
