graduate hugging graduateThe day dawned wet and dreary, but by the start of Marlboro's 60th commencement, the clouds had lifted and the sun was shining on 70 graduates, their families and the entire campus community. Doing humble work was a theme of the addresses. World renowned geneticist and honorary degree recipient Dick Lewontin recalled walking the campus in the 1960s with the then-president making sure all the lights were turned off. Commencement speaker Nils Daulaire, head of the Global Health Council, told graduates to eschew fame and money for meaning and fulfillment: "Think small. If you look for meaning and joy in the smallest things, the big things will come of their own accord."
