NewsPress Release -Marlboro College Presents "Dance Springs Eternal"
MARLBORO, VT - Friday and Saturday, April 27th and 28th, at 8 p.m. in the Whittemore Theater, the Marlboro College dance department presents "Dance Springs Eternal," a performance of original dances, choreographed and performed by both students and faculty.
"The performance will be very diverse with strides in new dance directions," said Dana Holby, dance professor at Marlboro. "Dance Springs Eternal" will showcase over fifteen student-choreographed dances featuring a variety of styles. Israeli and modern dance and ballet, as well as performance art will make up the evening. Among the work will be two Israeli folk dances that are part of Julie Fins' work as a graduating senior - a group circle dance called "Harmonica" and a couple dance called "Dodi Li."
The latter half of the program features the debut of the Marlboro College Performance Workshop, a dance performance group that formed last fall. Consisting of freshman Aryn E. Bowman, sophomore Elizabeth Castellana, junior Leyea Risley, and dance professors Alison Mott and Holby, the group will close out the evening with group-choreographed repertory.
This event is free and open to the public, and the Whittemore Theater is fully accessible. For more information on this or any other event at the college, please call (802) 257-4333 or check out the college online at www.marlboro.edu.
