NewsPersons School Offers Open House
BRATTLEBORO, VT The Persons School of Marlboro College will offer an open house from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 31, to provide information about its Internet masters degree programs. President Paul LeBlanc and Persons School faculty will make a presentation and take questions, alumni will discuss their experiences with the program and their careers since graduating, and Persons School staff will provide a tour of the state-of-the-art facilities, along with light refreshments.
The Persons School offers one-year masters programs in Internet Strategy Management (ISM), Teaching with Internet Technologies (MAT), and Internet Engineering (MSIE). The programs are designed for working professionals, with classes meeting every other weekend and online.
The focus of the open house will be the unabated need for information technology experts amid the stock market correction that has hit technology companies heavily. LeBlanc cautions against overreacting to the burst of the dot-com bubble. "Our e-commerce program has always been about taking existing businesses and integrating into their work an online strategy that supports growth, improves customer relations management, generates cost-savings, and maintains a competitive edge."
Graduates of the ISM and MSIE programs have joined established industry leaders such as Brown Brothers Harriman, Charles Schwab, IBM, Viant Corporation, Spring, Pratt & Whitney, LEGO Systems and Motorola. The MAT program prepares educators to help schools integrate the educational possibilities of the Internet into their programs.
The Persons School will also offer regional information sessions, April 4 at the Hotel Northampton in Northampton, Massachusetts; April 5 at the Hastings Hotel in Hartford, Connecticut; and April 18 at the offices of Vertek in Colchester, Vermont. Each session will run from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
