BRATTLEBORO, VT - On Thursday, November 1, the Marlboro College Technology Center will be hosting an e-Business Network Group event entitled, "Cost Savings Through e-Business Strategy in the Changing Marketplace."

Sponsored locally by the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce, the program will start at 4:30 p.m. with a half-hour networking session, followed by presentations and discussions at 5:00, and finishing with another networking session from 6:30 to 7 p.m. The speakers are Shayne Gilbert and Tricia Keenan. Based on their knowledge and experience, they will discuss and examine ways in which e-business strategies can save businesses money during these challenging economic times.

Gilbert is the founder of Silverweave, an Internet strategy firm that delivers Internet project planning and implementation for clients such as Lucent Technologies, Hay/McBer, and BankBoston. A leader in Boston's interactive industry, she is also the founder and president of the Cyber District, a cooperative of industry professionals. Gilbert sits on the boards of Bentley College Entrepreneurial Studies Program and the Massachusetts Communications College Internet Communication and Technology Advisory Committee. The author of "90 Days to Launch," Gilbert has been recognized in The Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, and Wired. She holds a B.A. from Wellesley College and an M.B.A from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. Gilbert teaches "Marketing and the Internet" at Marlboro¹s Persons School.

Keenan is the president of Growing Design, Inc., and an alumna of Marlboro's Persons School. Growing Design is an Internet strategy and Web development firm that strives to provide its clients with insightful strategies and high-quality design and development products to accomplish their online goals. Growing Design has created the Websites of several top Vermont businesses and organizations, including Omega Optical, G.S. Precision, Inc., and the Stowe Area Association. Growing Design has also worked with national and international corporations such as Brown Brothers Harriman. Keenan is also launching, an application development company currently completing the live demo that will showcase its technology online. will use its patent-pending Liquid Intelligence (TM) recommendation engine to match products and services to business-to-business and retail e-commerce customers.

Pre-registration is required by October 26. The cost is $20. Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served.
