BRATTLEBORO, VT - Mandy Traineanu of Springfield, Vermont, earned a Master of Science in Internet Strategy Management from The Persons School of Marlboro College.
Traineanu is co-owner and vice president of New England Industrial Sales Company, a computer and engineering consulting firm she founded in 1989. She has a master's degree in electrical engineering from the Politechnical Institute of Bucharest, Romania, and is a licensed technical translator to and from German, English, and Romanian.
A long-time member of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, Traineanu is past president of the Springfield chapter of the Business Professional Women's organization and an honored professional of the nationwide register, Who's Who in Executives and Business. She has lived in Springfield since 1984.
Traineanu was among 77 students receiving master's degrees in August 2001 from the Persons School's three programs: 40 for the Master of Science in Internet Strategy Management, 23 for the Master of Internet Engineering, and 14 for the Master of Arts in Teaching with Internet Strategies.
To graduate from one of the Persons School's programs, students must complete a Capstone project, the equivalent of a traditional master's thesis. A Capstone project demonstrates the mastery of the interdisciplinary curriculum and the implementation of an innovative concept for the use of the Internet in an organizational or educational setting.
Traineanu's Capstone was entitled, "Statistical Web Tracking and Adaptive Web Technologies." With this new, trademarked method, Websites can track and interpret various information about visitors through a customer-supplied logic and then change the actual appearance of the Website to enhance the user's experience. This new method offers these capabilities without requiring sizable capital investments.
According to Traineanu, "The Internet Strategy Management program helped round and complement my technical background as an electric engineer and gave me hands-on training on how to start, develop, and run an Internet project from ground zero to a successful launch and healthy growth rate. The ISM program also allowed my artistic side to come out and become polished in my preparation for being a Web designer, marketer, and project management consultant. The variety of instructors and my classmates' backgrounds contributed to an unforgettable and first-class education and experience."
