MARLBORO, VT - The newly formed musical group "At Noises Edge" will give two performances this weekend -- at Marlboro College on September 14 and at the Hooker-Dunham Theater in Brattleboro on September 15. Both performances will take place at 8 p.m.

"At Noises Edge" is an ensemble of five young musicians collaborating on vocal harmony, fiddle, guitar, and percussion to create vibrant, risk-taking compositions.

Led by Marlboro College student Julia Slone, the group sings original works, uniquely arranged folk songs, and four-part vocal improv. Slone is also the director of the Marlboro College Women's Chorus.

Marlboro students Libby Garafalo and Matthew Temple Cortez bring their talents to the group. They are joined by Smith College graduate Merrill Garbus, an intern at Putney's Sandglass Theater, and by special guest percussionist Jay Snyder.

The Marlboro performance will take place in Whittemore Theater. For the Brattleboro performance, the Hooker-Dunham Theater is located at 139 Main Street. Both performances are free and open to the public.
