MARLBORO, VERMONT Marlboro College will host Pianist
Robert Merfeld and Cellist Paul Cohen for a concert in the Whittemore
Theater slated for Sunday, Sept. 8 at 3 p.m.
Merfield, an Oberlin and Julliard graduate, is currently on the piano and chamber music faculties of Boston University, Harvard University, and the Longy School of Music.
He has performed at Marlboro College with Katie Lansdale, Elise Kuder, and Momo Shinohara. He has also performed at the Marlboro Music Festival and the New England Bach Festival, and was a founding member of the Apple Hill Chamber Players.
Cohen has performed on major concert stages throughout the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. Since his orchestral debut at the age of 12 in his native Minneapolis, he has had a varied career as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician.
Cohen has performed with such ensembles as the Dumsmuir Piano Quartet,, Camerata Pacifica, Pacific Serenades, and has appeared in the Ojai Music Festival, Ventura Chamber Music Festival, and the Sedona Chamber Music Festival.
Cohen was a recipient of the Fischoff Chamber Music Prize, the CD Jackson Master Award at the Tanglewood Festival, and an individual artist fellowship by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts.
The concert is free and open to the public.
