MARLBORO, VT - Poet and songwriter Wyn Cooper will present poems from his most recent collection and other works at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 24, in Marlboro College's Drury Gallery.
Cooper's second book of poems, "The Way Back," was published by White Pine Press in 2001. His first book, "The Country of Here Below," was published in 1987. "Fun," a poem from that collection, was made into Sheryl Crow's Grammy Award-winning song, "All I Wanna Do," in 1993.
A resident of Halifax, Vermont, Cooper has also published numerous poems, stories, and reviews in magazines such as Poetry, Orion, Harvard Magazine, Verse, Ploughshares, Agni, Antioch Review, Denver Quarterly, and Fence. His poems are included in eight anthologies of contemporary poetry, including Outsiders.
Before turning to writing full time, Cooper taught at Bennington and Marlboro colleges.
