NewsPress Release: 7/30/02Marlboro College Welcomes New Admissions Counselor Back to Campus

MARLBORO, VERMONT – Marlboro College is pleased to announce it has hired Lincoln “Link” Daniel Hughes as its new admissions counselor.

A 2001 graduate of Marlboro College, Hughes has most recently served as a program coordinator at the Boys & Girls Club of Brattleboro. He also served as a resident assistant while a student at the college.

Hughes has said he is anxious to begin working with the new generation of Marlboro College students.

Julie Richardson, Director of Admissions, said the college is pleased to welcome Hughes back to campus.“Link was deeply engaged in the community in his time here as a student. He was an RA for three years, led a Rites and Rituals Woods Trip and served on the Social Committee,” she said. “His emphasis on computer science will be a real asset in our admissions work, as will his energy and enthusiasm.”

Founded in 1946, Marlboro College offers undergraduate education in the liberal arts and, since 1997, graduate study focused on Internet technologies. Its 300 undergraduate students enjoy a 7:1 student-faculty ratio, a voice in governing the community, and individualized courses of study on a 350-acre campus in the hills of southern Vermont. Marlboro’s nearby Brattleboro-based Persons School features four master’s degree programs -- Systems Integration Management, Internet Strategy Management, Teaching with Internet Technologies, and Internet Engineering. The Brattleboro campus is located in the Marlboro College Technology Center, which brings together education and entrepreneurship, while offering technology resources to the community.
