NewsMarlboro College Holds 16th Annual Fencing Tournament
Marlboro, VT-Marlboro College's Fencing Society Presents their 16th Annual Fencing Tournament on Saturday, December 1st from 1:30PM to 4:00PM in the Marlboro College dining hall.
Each fencer will battle for the honor of a patron or patrons. The fencers will be fighting in a historical style, with the rules closely following those of the Society for Creative Anachronism. First-round prizes will include awards for the winner of the tournament, as well as for the most dramatic death.
“What I particularly love about the fencing tournament is the inherent light-heartedness coupled with some excellent fencing skill that makes the tournament a joy to both watch and be a part of,” says fencing instructor, Jodi Clark.
During the intermission, the Marlboro College World Music Ensemble will be performing music from the Renaissance era.
Costumes are strongly encouraged, but not required. Admission to this event is free and open to the public.
