NewsJay Craven's "Dissappearances" Shows at Marlboro College
Marlboro, VT—Director and Marlboro College Film Professor Jay Craven’s movie Disappearances, a magical realist whiskey-running adventure, will show on Wednesday, March 14, at 7:00 p.m. in Whittemore Theater.
Based on the award-winning novel by Howard Frank Mosher, Disappearances stars Kris Kristofferson and Genevieve Bujold. A dozen Marlboro College students and alums worked on the set of the film.
In 1932, months before the repeal of the Prohibition Act, Quebec Bill Bonhomme (Kris Kristofferson) and his son, Wild Bill Bonhomme (Charlie McDermott) turn to the traditional family occupation of whiskey-smuggling in order to save their cattle herd. Their bootlegging expedition turns into an unforgettable journey through Canadian wilderness and into a haunted and mysterious past.
