NewsSenior Art Exhibits Feature Ceramics and Mixed Media

Marlboro, VT (April 23, 2007)-Marlboro College seniors exhibit ceramics, mixed media and intaglio prints from Friday, May 11 through Wednesday, May 16 in the Drury Gallery. An opening reception will be held on Friday, May 11 at 4:30 p.m.

Ian Jones presents an exhibit of utilitarian ceramics employing Japanese clay traditions. Jones studied Japanese language and ceramics at Kansai Gaidai University in Japan for a semester, and a portion of his Plan also examines Japanese food culture.

Using mixed media and intaglio printmaking, Sarah Wise will exhibit abstract complex narratives on the paths individuals take to engage with their environment in Works on Paper. Wise is studying the development of symbolic imagery, studio art and the exploration of contemporary painting.

The Drury Gallery is open Sunday through Friday, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Senior work will also be exhibited at the Catherine Dianich Gallery on Main Street in Brattleboro through the month of May, with an opening during Gallery Walk on May 4.
