News Not in My Job Description: Marlboro College Faculty and Staff Read Their Work

Marlboro, VT- (February 10, 2008)- Marlboro College will present Not in My Job Description: Readings by People Who Work Here on Wednesday, February 20th at 7:00PM in Marlboro's Whittemore Theater. This event is free and open to the public.

This event will include poetry, fiction, memoir, a staged reading, excerpts from a non-fiction novel and translations of poets Rumi and Faiz, showcasing the talents of Marlboro employees. Staff Hilly van Loon, Mark Genszler, Ken Schneck, and Sunny Tappan will join faculty members Laura Stevenson, Emma Park, Amer Latif, John Sheehy, and T. Hunter Wilson to share those things they scribble late into the night.

"There are all these people at the college who I know in their professional work, who also have this other side to them. Hearing them read their own writing is like sitting inside their mind for a bit," says Sunny Tappan, Marlboro's Administrative Aid, who organized the reading. "You get to find out what and how they think about things that you're not likely to get in a conversation with them."
