News 42nd Annual Wendell Cup Slated for Feb. 10
XC Event Dedicated to Memory of Race Founder, Dick Judd
MARLBORO, VT – (February 7, 2008) – Cross-country skiers and snowshoe-enthusiasts are invited to participate in the 42nd Annual Wendell Cup, scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10 at Marlboro College.
The groomed, 5.5 mile (8 km) course is suitable for all ages and skill levels, according to event coordinator Randy Knaggs. The trail itself follows a beautiful route out to South Pond before looping back to campus. Free registration occurs in the Marlboro College Campus Center from 1:00-1:45 p.m.
Knaggs says this year’s event is dedicated to the memory of Dick Judd, who passed way in the spring of 2007. Judd was a faculty member at Marlboro College for 39 years and founded the annual Wendell Cup event.
Prizes will be awarded in youth, men’s, women’s, seniors’ and pedestrian categories. Mid-point starts and shuttle are available. Refreshments will be served at the end of the race during the awards ceremony.
In the event of rain, an alternate date has been scheduled for Sunday, February 24. For more information, contact Randy Knaggs at 802-258-9253 or email@example.com.
