News ORCHID ENSEMBLE PERFORMS AT MARLBORO COLLEGE, OCTOBER 25
MARLBORO, VT- (October 19, 2009) - The Music for Sunday Afternoon fall concert series at Marlboro College will present The Orchid Ensemble in Ragle Hall at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 25.
The JUNO-nominated Orchid Ensemble blends ancient musical instruments and traditions from China and beyond, creating a beautiful new sound. The ensemble has embraced a variety of musical styles in its repertoire, ranging from the traditional and contemporary music of China and world music to jazz and creative improvisation. The trio consists of Lan Tung playing the erhu, Jonathan Bernard on marimba and Haiqiong Deng playing the zheng.
General admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 18 and under. Reservations can be made in advance by calling the Marlboro College event information line at 802-451-7151.
