News JOHNNY BLAZES PRESENTS WO(N)MAN SHOW AT MARLBORO COLLEGE, DECEMBER 7
MARLBORO, VT- (December 1, 2009) - Marlboro College will present a free, open to the public performance of "wo(n)man show" by Johnny Blazes at 7:00 pm on Monday, December 7 in the Whittemore Theater.
Blazes' performance blends cabaret arts with theater to create a semi-narrative series of vignettes. These vignettes incorporate physical theater, prop manipulation, puppetry, dance, lip synch and classical voice as it explores the question: How does one arrive at one's present gender?
Boston-based performer Johnny Blazes is a graduate of Oberlin College, where Johnny co-founded their student circus troupe, OCircus. Blazes is also a cast member of The Femme Show, a touring revue of smart, sexy, interactive performance about queer femme identity that features film, dance, literary readings, burlesque, drag, and performance art from award winning artists
