News Marlboro College Presents Music for a Sunday Afternoon: Winterreise
MARLBORO, VT – (February 26, 2013) – Marlboro College presents tenor Daniel Molkentin and pianist Marcia Eckert on Sunday, March 10, at 3:00pm in Ragle Hall. The duo will perform Winterreise, Franz Shubert’s song cycle of poems by Wilhelm Müller.
Molkentin enjoys an active schedule performing solo and ensemble works ranging from the 16th to 21st centuries. He teaches English and German diction at Mannes College of Music and has served as the German diction coach for many ensembles, including the Bard Summer Music Festival, Berkshire Choral Festival and Liederkranz Opera Theatre.
Marcia Eckert is active as piano soloist and collaborative artist and has appeared in the Mostly Mozart Festival, as well as at Merkin, Alice Tully and Weill concert halls. She teaches piano and chamber music in the Mannes College program for young musicians.
The concert is free and open to the public.
