Dean of Admissions

 

Marlboro College is accepting applications for Dean of Admissions. Marlboro College is nationally recognized for its academic rigor and active community in the pursuit of liberal arts education, 8:1 student-faculty ratio, clear writing requirement, small community of 330 students, and town meeting form of self-governance. Founded in 1946, Marlboro is located on 350 acres in southeastern Vermont. The College Graduate Center is located in the nearby creative community of Brattleboro.

Position Summary

As a member of senior staff and a member of faculty, the Dean of Admissions works collaboratively with students, faculty, staff and alumni to manage recruiting, admissions, and admissions marketing, and to utilize financial aid to attract and maintain a cohort of students who will succeed in the college’s model of student-driven learning and intensive teaching.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a creative, hardworking professional with outstanding writing, speaking, interpersonal, research, analytical and team-building skills, who is committed to liberal arts education and experienced at leadership in highly participatory organizations. Comprehensive knowledge of college admissions and administration and five years' experience meeting and exceeding enrollment goals is expected, as is knowledge of financial aid, student retention, the use of technology in marketing and recruitment, the ability to plan, develop strategy and formulate policy, and talent for budgeting for planned objectives. A master’s degree or extensive admissions work experience is required.
