This tutorial describes the steps necessary to connect a Macintosh running Mac OS X to the Marlboro ethernet network.
The default settings of Mac OS X should be set up correctly for connecting to the Marlboro network. If you have changed the network preferences in the past, or having trouble getting on the network, please read this tutorial.
Requirements:
- A Macintosh running Mac OS X
- An ethernet network card (Any Mac capable of running Mac OS X should have one built in.)
- An ethernet wall jack. All rooms at Marlboro should be equipped with at least one.
- An ethernet cable.
1. Insert the one Ethernet cable into the ethernet network wall jack.
Insert the other end of the cable into the Ethernet port on your computer. The ethernet port should have an icon next to it like the one below. The port itself looks like a large phone port.

3. Select the "Network" icon from the System Preferences

4. Select "Built-in Ethernet" from the "Show" drop
down menu.
Select "Using DHCP" from the "Configure" drop down
menu.
Click the [Apply Now] button.

You should now be able to use the network and the Internet. When you try to access the network, the computer will automatically retrieve the correct settings from Marlboro's DHCP server.
