This collection includes many rare and first editions such as The Phantom 'Richshaw and Other Tales (1888), Departmental Ditties and Other Verses (1886) and journal articles in their original volumes. Most materials are from the Howard C. Rice, Jr. Collection.

Photographs

These photographs primarily focus on Kipling's Vermont years (1892-1896) and include a broad spectrum of images of Kipling, his family, friends, relatives and Naulakha. Most images are from the F. Cabot Holbrook Collection, owned by The Landmark Trust USA. It was purchased from the Holbrook family in 1993.

Primary Documents

This collection includes materials related to Rudyard Kipling that were stored in a Brattleboro, VT bank vault for nearly 100 years. This box apparently had been left behind when the Kiplings left Vermont in 1896.

Includes Howard Rice's personal papers, manuscripts, artilces, photographs, rare books and other information Rice collected about Kipling.

F. Cabot Holbrook Collection
Consists of the original blueprints for Naulakha, glass plates, photographs and negatives of the Kipling and Balestier families as well as copies of original letters by Rudyard and Caroline Kipling. All materials in this series are owned by The Landmark Trust USA and no part may be reproduced without permission.
