Via Lingua Certificate Fellowship

Graduates of the Via Lingua Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (CTEFL) may be eligible to receive a tuition waiver of up to $5,000.00 in the Marlboro College MATESOL program. Marlboro's Via Lingua Certificate Fellowship builds on a shared commitment to lifelong learning as well as the mutual interest in enhancing the professional development of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). The fellowship recognizes and validates the quality of teacher preparation in the Via Lingua certificate program and the desire of many of Via Lingua’s participants to seek an advanced degree.

The Via Lingua mission—to develop global professionals who are thoughtful, creative and effective practitioners of teaching English as a Foreign Language—resonates with Marlboro’s own approach to language learning. Via Lingua graduates are prepared with essential knowledge, competencies, and dispositions in the field. Student-centered learning reflects historical and contemporary knowledge, theory, cross-cultural awareness, and ongoing practice that meet the academic, professional, personal, and social needs of learners.
