Dual Degree Program - MBA in Managing for Sustainability

Why: Businesses and other organizations face an economic landscape marked by turbulent markets and social and environmental crises. Today’s leaders need to grasp the crucial relationship between management practices, natural ecosystems, local communities, and profits. The MBA in Managing for Sustainability can prepare you to become one of those leaders, with the background to join emerging industries, or establish your own venture, and help build a sustainable society.

What: The MBA in Managing for Sustainability is a two-year program, with monthly weekend intensives supported by online interactions with students and faculty. You will find environmental and social factors woven into every level of this program, from core business courses like Managerial Economics to seminars on climate change and sustainability. The program culminates with a Capstone Project establishing your credentials as an innovator in the new language of business.

How: A liberal arts education from Marlboro is great preparation for embarking on an MBA, but a course of study that includes an environmental, social, or organizational focus is particularly well suited. You can take up to six credits in graduate courses in your senior year, and apply them toward your MBA. Marlboro will help you look for a relevant internship, in the summer of your junior or senior year, to help build your organizational experience.

“I was only interested in a program that really challenged all the conventions of business, addressed social and leadership issues as well as environmental degradation, and sought to change mindsets. This is the only MBA program on the east coast that incorporates and integrates all dimensions of sustainability. Plus, I knew Marlboro College was the one place that could really challenge business as usual.”
