CCS Spring Convening

When: APRIL 1 AND 2, Friday night and Saturday Morning

Subject: Equity, Excellence, and Value in Public Education

The Center for Creative Solutions invites you to an inclusive, open-ended, and informative facilitated discussion on public education in our region. The goal of the convening is to create a place for individuals with varying perspectives to come together to envision the future of public education in Windham County.

Many of us in the county are thinking about Act 46 right now. The aim of this workshop is to think beyond the Act. This event is structured to create a space where stakeholders can begin to define the "Equity" "Excellence" and "Value" that the act promotes.

Themes

  • Defining what equity, excellence, and value look like, and how we achieve them.

Method

  • Key qualities: Innovative and Experiential – promoting courage, collaboration, active listening and interdisciplinarity; NO talking heads.

Working draft of Schedule:

Friday evening, 7:00pm: Panel Discussion featuring informed members of education community, and Q & A focused on current realities in education in our region and Act 46, at Latchis Theater

Saturday morning 9:30am-12:30pm: Facilitated workshop on exploring equity and excellence in public education, at Marlboro College Graduate Center. Daycare available (by donation).
