More Dinner Party than Donner Party

While Marlboro is “in the middle of nowhere”, and survivalism is an important aspect of the college, you’re more likely to come across a dinner party than a situation that the Donner Party faced.

Marlboro students do like their social gatherings, ranging from pot-luck dinners and table-top gaming to a recent development that some call “high-concept” parties. Some recent examples include an airplane party, where chairs were lined up facing a projection of a video moving through clouds; party-goers weren’t allowed to leave their seats, while one student served drinks down the aisle.

Another party was held in the greenhouse, where, in order to gain admittance, guests needed to be dressed as plants.
