NewsPress Release - September 11, 2000Marlboro Hosts Musical Cabaret "It Isn't Nice"
MARLBORO, VT - Marlboro College presents "It Isn't Nice," a musical cabaret in its twelfth year of performance, at 8 p.m. Saturday, September 30, in the Whittemore Theater.
"It Isn't Nice" takes a close look at our world through the poignant and humorous political and social music of the twentieth century. The keyboardist and three singers of "It Isn't Nice" present original material as well as the "not so nice" music of Brecht, Weill, Eisler and other contemporary composers.
Gregory Lesch, Christopher Wesolowski, Karla Baldwin, and Paul Dedell are experienced performers who take the audience on a jagged journey through the exhilarating, sometimes painful, and sometimes very funny spirit of modern society. The show has won plaudits around Vermont: U.S. Representative Bernie Sanders says, "'It Isn't Nice' is in fact very nice - what a refreshing combination of talent, politics, and passion."
The Whittemore Theater is fully accessible. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please call (802) 257-4333.
