MARLBORO, VT - Marlboro College welcomes Mark Koehler as the new Internet development director, effective October 1.

Koehler, a Missouri native, comes to the college with more than 12 years of experience in information systems design, support and management, including four-plus years of Website design and management experience, and several years of database design and management experience.

Relocating to Wardsboro, Vermont, from Tucson, Arizona, Koehler worked at Arizona State University from 1998 to 2001, where he led several teams in the redesign and redevelopment of most of the Student Affairs departmental and divisional Websites. He also developed several interactive applications at ASU, including a complex online reservation system that gives newly admitted and returning students the opportunity to register for on-campus and off-campus orientation sessions.

Most recently, he served as a short-term database specialist, principal, at the University of Arizona Budget Office, where there were several complex Access databases containing university-wide financial information, which Koehler converted to SQL Server or Oracle, as appropriate. He also developed a Website there that included interactive Intranet and Internet applications.

Koehler's background also includes working at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha; Pinon Management in Lakewood, Colorado; the League of American Theaters and Producers in New York City; and Logical Solutions in Austin, Texas. He has a bachelor's degree in music (piano performance) from the University of California in Los Angeles, and has completed graduate studies in mathematics and computer science at the University of Texas in Austin.

Founded in 1946, Marlboro College offers undergraduate education in the liberal arts and, since 1997, graduate study focused in Internet technologies.
