NewsPress Release: 3/4/02Gallery Talk Focuses on Exhibit of Surreal Drawings and Paintings

MARLBORO, VT - Visiting artist Lynn Imperatore will give a gallery talk at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, in conjunction with her current exhibit in the Drury Gallery at Marlboro College.

Surreal  Painting by Lynn ImperatoreA resident of Burlington, Vermont, Imperatore says her work is inspired by dreams and life experience. "I make art in order to discover something about myself, the world, human nature that I don't already know . . . and to hopefully stimulate that process in the viewer," she says.

She received an M.F.A. from Vermont College in Montpelier and was the winner of a Vermont Arts Council/Art in State Office Buildings Competition, among other awards and appointments.

Admission is free, and the Drury Gallery is fully accessible. Gallery hours are from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday through Friday. Imperatore's exhibit continues through April 21.
