The third in the speaker series Refugees in the USA Today, Connie Woodberry will discuss the challenges of transition for refugees moving from their native soil to new culture. Connie has worked as a consultant and case worker for refugees in Vermont, Massachusetts, and Maine, providing translation, cross-cultural consultation, and job orientation for Southeast Asian refugees and the organizations that supported them. As a senior program officer for World Education from 1983 to 2015 she coordinated ESL, cultural orientation, livelihoods training, and teacher training programs for Lao, Cambodian, Vietnamese, and Burmese refugees living in the Thai refugee camps. This event is free and open to the public, but please register online if you plan to attend. Suggested donation of $15, or $50 for the whole series of five speakers.
