Welcoming Asylum Seekers to Our Community

Wednesday, September 20, 2017 - 7:00pmSnyder Center for the Visual Arts

Presentation by Steve Crofter and Laurel Green

Who are the people who come to the United States to seek asylum, and why are they willing to leave their own homelands? How are they different from refugees? What is our responsibility toward them? And what do cowboy songs have to do with this? Through a combination of stories and song, local residents Steve Crofter and Laurel Green will weave the answers to these questions with the backstory for the newly-founded non-profit Community Asylum Seekers Project (CASP) and the safe haven they have created at their Rockingham farm. Come to learn, to be entertained, to support this project, and to be inspired.
