Annual Fund Breaks New Record

Thanks to all of Marlboro's extraordinarily generous trustees, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends, the Marlboro College Annual Fund has reached a new high this year. The fund exceeded $2.2 million in donations, surpassing last year's total of $2 million and breaking the record set two years ago.

"Surpassing last year’s total by over $200,000 is a sign of great energy and enthusiasm for the the future of Marlboro," said Rennie Washburn, director of advancement. "It signals our community’s belief in and commitment to the college. It shows me what a small but mighty group of people can do when they believe in something, and reinforces my decision to join this community last winter."

The Annual Fund's success is due in large part to two challenges put forth this spring. Thanks go to all who helped the college reach these benchmarks and earn an extra $400,000 for this year’s Annual Fund. Gifts have already gone to work enhancing student and faculty life, providing much needed financial aid, supporting excellence in academics, and maintaining Marlboro's beautiful campus.

"While there are challenges facing Marlboro and all other small colleges, your support, year after year, helps to keep this special community vibrant," said Rennie.
