Fellowship Program

Skill up at Marlboro through our professional project-based fellowships.

The program brings together an interdisciplinary cohort of recent graduates for an immersive project-based educational opportunity in which students gain professional work experience, are paired with a professional mentor, enroll in graduate or professional courses, and explore and apply new approaches to leadership. Monthly meet-ups with mentors and participation in So.VT Young Professionals events will augment development of professional goals, job skills, and future planning.

Through this immersive program, students selected as Marlboro Fellows will:

  1. Gain job skills and professional work experience

  2. Learn directly from, and develop connections with, a wide network of professionals

  3. Gain an overview of a diverse range of leadership styles and techniques

  4. Design and implement a project that builds on professional interest and provides a benefit to the Marlboro community

Eligibility and Application

Students who are selected as Marlboro Fellows will be a recent graduate of Marlboro College, have an excellent record of academic and community standing, and have a demonstrated interest in the area or department of the college. Fellowships vary year to year and are offered in key administrative offices/departments across the College depending on the needs of the institution. A selection committee reviews applications, interviews candidates, and recommends finalists for appointment. The strength of candidates’ academic work and contributions to the Marlboro community are considered among their other qualifications.

Application materials must include a cover letter, resume, two references, and one to two ideas for a potential special project that will be undertaken during the academic year. Projects should have a tangible outcome that will benefit the Marlboro community.
