Student Loan Code of Conduct

Marlboro College participates in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program. This program includes the Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Student loans, the Direct Graduate PLUS loan, and the Direct parent PLUS loan. If a student and family applies for and is approved for a private loan, then these loans are certified and processed through the financial aid office.

Higher education institutions are required to have a code of conduct applicable to the institution’s employees. Marlboro College has instituted the following Student Loan Code of Conduct to ensure the integrity of the administration of all student and parent loan programs.

  • Marlboro College prohibits any employee of the financial aid office, student accounts, business office, or any other office involved in the administration of education loans to receive gifts from a lender, guaranty agency, or loan servicer.
  • Marlboro College prohibits any employee of the financial aid office, student accounts, business office, or any other office involved in the administration of education loans to accept any fee, payment, or other financial benefit (including the opportunity to buy stock) as compensation for consulting or other contractual arrangement to provide education loan related services.

  • Marlboro College does not accept funds from a lender in exchange for providing concessions or promises for providing a specific number or volume of private loans, or for private loan preferred arrangements.

This code will be enforced by the institution. Any employee of Marlboro College in violation of any part of this code will be subject to disciplinary action.
