Federal Work Study
The Federal Work Study (FWS) Program provides funds for part-time employment to help students with financial need afford the costs of college. Students can receive FWS funds at approximately 3,400 participating postsecondary institutions, including Marlboro.
If eligible, based upon need, you can use Federal Work Study in one of two ways: you may keep the work-study wages as they are earned, or the earnings may be applied toward your bill. The form to have earnings applied toward your bill is available from the student accounts office.
A work study award does not guarantee you a job, but does allow you to apply for any available positions. Part-time positions at Marlboro can be on-campus or off-campus, and can range from clerical work to chopping onions in the dining hall kitchen. Students are encouraged to apply for positions that relate to their academic or career interests. Hourly wages are the federal minimum wage, and students typically work 6 to 10 hours a week.
